Glynnshire is a small, seventy-four (74) unit subdivision, located in southwest Newton county, Georgia. The subdivision is very diverse with homes comprising of couples of all ages, races, and ethnicity. The single family units are homes with a blend of families, with and without children. There is also a good mixture of working and retired individuals. In short, it is a living, breathing example of the American melting pot that makes this country unique.
The subdivision was built in 1999 and has lot sizes of about 1 acre. Houses comprise of three to five bedroom homes, with and without basements. The 3-sided brick homes are all unique, single and multi-story. From the beginning, the subdivision has been governed by recorded covenants managed by an active Home Owner's Association (HOA) board. Through the efforts of the HOA board and participation of the residents, the properties are well maintained. Underground utilities, as well as moderate hills contribute to a neat and pleasing neighborhood.
The subdivision is a safe place to live due to limited traffic and an active Neighborhood Watch organization. While there are no sidewalks in the subdivision, it is still safe to walk and play in the streets as there is only one entrance/exit. A walk around the horseshoe shaped subdivision is about one mile from the cul-de-sacs to cul-de-sac. The subdivision is ideally located about 5 miles south of Interstate 20 and 12 miles east of Interstate 75. Big city services in Atlanta are only 35 miles west and the Atlanta airport is only 45 miles away. Within five miles of the subdivision you will find multiple schools, churches, three large grocery chains, a Super Walmart, and various fast food businesses. Despite this, the area around the subdivision still has a rural appearance.
